Purpose

The device is housed in a plastic enclosure and is compact enough to fit in a shirt pocket. A slot at the top of the device holds a cannabis cartridge for vaporizing. The device also features audio playback controls. A multi-position switch controls the playback of internally stored recordings of the eleven bells of the Cologne Cathedral. Another multi-position switch can select twelve musical notes if a user prefers. A pushbutton allows the user to choose from a selection of different musical instruments to play the twelve notes. An internal Bluetooth® transmitter connects to a user’s wireless headphones for discrete playback at a loud volume level.

The Problem

Determining the correct musical note and medical cannabis combination is almost impossible to do, especially when you are away from home.
And noises that calm one person may be annoying to another person nearby.

The Solution

… But now, there’s the Noise Injury Relief System!

Story Behind the Invention

John Brundage

Inventor John Brundage, a survivor of a drive by shooting where he was shot eight inches from his left ear, has embarked on a mission to alleviate the distress caused by noise-related PTSD.

His life-altering incident occurred on July 4, 1966, leaving him with terrible recurring health issues. In 2007, his condition worsened due to an improperly balanced HVAC system and a fire alarm test at work, leading to vertigo, tinnitus, brain fog, general anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, and a cognitive disorder.

After spending two years incapacitated, he was diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease by Johns Hopkins ENTAA. However, in 2022, they retracted their diagnosis, leaving his condition a mystery. It was then that John hypothesized that his symptoms were related to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) triggered by loud noises.

In 2018, John discovered an unexpected remedy: medical cannabis strain Jack Herer and the E note from the Consecration Bell of the Cologne Cathedral. This combination put him into remission. Inspired by this breakthrough, John invented the Noise Injury Relief System. He aims to help people with similar disorders, including veterans and individuals suffering from Meniere’s Disease or noise-related injuries.
